David Freund’s Playground Once, featured in the September 2018 issue of Life Force magazine, is an essay and twenty photographs from Freund’s nationwide project photographing American public playgrounds from a time when children spent unsupervised time learning to play together. The book about the project will be published by Steidl Verlag, scheduled for later release.
