This symposium addressed several issues of value to photographers, and to anyone interested in photo books, as photographers, designers, publishers, curators.  I spoke of my experience producing Gas Stop with Steidl.

A project I have been thinking about longer than I wish to admit is a book of chrome postcards that can be sequenced to tell a larger story about America...

I suppose it goes without saying that Steidl did a great job, but they did. The work certainly deserves the deluxe treatment (in every way) that it received.

But opening the volumes this morning and just sampling the pictures made it clear that there's so much really there at the center of it all.
